5 Steps to Holistic Leadership and Freedom

March 09, 20235 min read

“Holistic Leaders have vision, passion, are heart centred, believe in something bigger than themselves, are ready to share it with the world and empower others .”

Introduction:

Now matter whether your are a Healer, Coach, Practitioner, Contractor, Marketer, Real Estate Agent, or anyone who wants to start a business we all have to start somewhere. Each of us is unique and we want to earn a living and become a Leader in a way that fully empowers ourselves and others as we share our unique gifts and treasures. We also need to have an income and be able to support ourselves as we embark on this journey. We have moved into a new age, new energies, new ideas, new ways of doing business and that includes being abundant and prosperous in all areas of our life. Gone are the days where to be of service meant to live like a pauper, being supported by a community. Now we want to lead and be that visionary that empowers ourself and others to live life, to create a world we want to share.

We have this great idea, this vision of 'saving the world', or we think the product, workshop, methodology, system is what 'everyone' should have, experience, buy. This is great until we actually have to BE IT, and do IT, then we experience the 'real world' of 'competition' in the marketplace, even though we have created the best product out there, we actually have to get others to purchase or become part of our vision and join our workshop.

Many of us spend our entire lives searching for a way to have that life and make that living. To make a positive impact on others and the planet, to express our soul's deepest truth and live our True Nature and Purpose and have the financial abundance to go with it. Most Healers, Spiritual seekers come from a place of being a non sales/non marketer and don't even like the thought of "doing sales" as they feel it is not them and not the way to do business.

The thing is though, unless we have deep clarity on how to get paid well, how to make a career out of profound service we will not have the FREEDOM to do the philanthropic works, to be the Leader that we know we are here to be. After all it is hard to maintain focus on that deep inner calling to serve humanity when we are struggling to pay the bills, to buy food, keep a roof over your head. When we are stuck in scarcity, struggle, survival, self sabotage and searching we are just on a hamster wheel going round and round and repeating the same results and outcomes as we keep searching for the next fix.

KPI

With that said, lets begin! 👊

There are certain parts of business that we all need to be aware of and they are the Key Performance Indicators or KPIs that let us know where we are and help us decide our next moves.

mindmap
  1. INVESTMENT: Most healers, coaches, therapists start their business with little or no money. Any business needs some sort of financial footing, after all you have paid all that money for training, certification, your degree or whatever and now you have the set up costs of starting your business. Keep a record of your costs, do you need to rent a space or are you working from home, or you running workshops, webinars, selling products. They all have costs associated with them even if working from home.

  2. IMPACT: What is your vision? How are you going to impact the world? Is it through your products or services. How many people are you wanting to impact? Have you mapped out, written down all your thoughts - what structure are you going to use to get your information out there, what is your ideal team, your values, productivity, what are the benefits to you, your team, your clients/customers. Mind mapping is an ideal way to put down your ideas, thoughts and suggestions.

  3. PROFIT: What are you costs and what is your profit. Have you worked out the numbers? I need to sell this many services/products that cost this much to give me this amount of money. For example: as a Coach you may love doing 1-1 sessions with clients - when you work out your expenses (food, electricity, rent, insurances, phone, internet, etc) you need a minimum $ amount every week and can see only a maximum number of clients. This then determines your price to charge but is there any profit?

  4. VALUE: This is not only the value you give your customers, your staff, co workers but also the value of your business, after all you are the business in the early stages. What is the monetary value, how much is your business worth if someone wanted to purchase it? Are you building it to sell in the future or is it a Legacy business for your family? Have you built it up enough to give you passive income? Can you go away on business or holidays and it still runs on its own? Have you employed, subcontracted amazing supportive people who value what you do and want to be part of your vision and do you value their contribution.

  5. FREEDOM: How much freedom will it give you or is it just a JOB where you pay yourself. Is it a hobby? Have you designed the business for your lifestyle? In the early stages if it is just you, it doesn't feel like like freedom at all but it is about setting up the right structure so that there are stepping stones to that freedom.

Now we have worked out our Key Performance Indicators

In our next POST lets look at the next 5 steps
